How do I find radar images?

From the homepage click on weather maps on the left and choose radar. A national animating radar image will be displayed.

To zoom in, click a state on the map or its name above the map. To zoom in further tick "Clickable" box then click on the state map. Below the map you can change the duration, speed and dwell of the animation. A control panel on the left allows you to navigate through the animation image by image. There are also tick boxes below the map to overlay rivers, roads, district borders, towns, lightning and rainfall.
Another map display of radar images is available using the Stormtracker. From the home page click the weather maps link on the left and choose Stormtracker. To zoom in click a region name above the map.

For more information on using the Stormtracker see the Stormtracker FAQ. You can also access radar by clicking your state on the home page. Then click radar as your map type on the next page.

A very wet weekend for southeast Qld, northeast NSW

11:48 AEST A prolonged rainfall event is set to bring large totals to parts of NSW and Qld from Saturday, with possible heavy falls and flooding.  A low-pressure system in the Coral Sea, a deepening coastal trough and persistent easterlies will bring moisture-laden air into southeast Qld and northeast NSW will bring days of rainfall to the region.  While there is not a drop of rain on the radar over southeast Qld and Northeast NSW on Friday morning, the mass of cloud associated with a low in the Coral Sea will enhance rainfall over the weekend.
