A dry and stable spell for the southeast

South Australia, western New South Wales and much of Victoria may get away without seeing a single drop of rain over the next 4-5 days.
High pressure will remain in charge across central and eastern Australia through the coming week, bringing an extended period of settled conditions for most.
Conditions will differ along the eastern seaboard and adjacent ranges, where onshore winds will deliver showers at times. Accumulations will generally be meagre, except for the Northern Rivers and Mid North Coast districts of New South Wales on Monday and Tuesday, where as much as 20mm could fall.
Heat will build day-by-day over inland parts of the southeast, with largely clear skies allowing plenty of sunshine reaching the surface, causing the atmosphere to warm.
There are signs of some milder air arriving from about Saturday, in association with a weak cold front, but significant rainfall with this change is not expected at this stage.
