With the Australian Open of tennis set to start at 11am tomorrow in Melbourne, weather conditions for the first week of competition look to be a mixed bag.
To begin proceedings, Monday will see a cloudy start to the tournament. This will lead to a mild top of 20 degrees, however with high relative humidity it will likely feel a bit warmer. There is a possibility for the odd light shower about midday, before skies start to clear in the afternoon.
Tuesday will see lovely conditions for fans and players alike with mostly clear skies and a top of 25 degrees. Southerly winds will be light before increasing to around 15km/h by the evening.
Things will start heat up on Wednesday, with clear conditions leading to a maximum temperature of 31 degrees. This heat will continue to rise before peaking on Thursday with another clear day and a top of 38 degrees.
Heat lingering into Friday will see the mercury rising to 32 degrees before a southerly change in the afternoon. This southerly change should bring increased cloud cover into Saturday as well as a few possible showers.
