Freezing nights to come for Canberra

Night-time temperatures will drop well below average in the Capital from Wednesday.
A significantly colder airmass will sweep across the southeast through the course of Wednesday in the wake of a cold front. The airmass will also be much drier, leading to increasingly clearer skies overnight Wednesday into Thursday, which is expected to be the coldest night of the year so far. The mercury will likely drop below freezing for the first time since last spring.
With a high pressure ridge building in for the rest of the week, mostly clear skies will continue, resulting in further cold nights, but also pleasantly sunny days.
Now might be a good time to dig out those extra layers if you haven't already.
