Record March winds blast Tasmania

It's been a windy few days in Tasmania as a pair of strong cold fronts swept across the state.
Wind gusts above 130km/h have been recorded at Scotts Peak, Mount Wellington and Maatsuyker Island during the last two days.
The strongest in the state was Maatsuyker Island's 156km/h gust early on Monday morning, which was the Island's strongest wind gust on record during March.
Hobart's strongest wind gust during this procession of fronts was 102km/h early on Sunday, although the city also clocked a gust of 98km/h on Monday morning.
A severe weather warning for damaging winds remained in place for parts of northeast Tasmania at 4pm local time on Monday, although conditions had eased for the rest of the state.
Wind will ease on Tuesday as a high pressure system starts of move over Tasmania.
Cold air in the wake of the fronts also brought snow to some of the stateā??s mountains, while rain associated with the fronts has caused minor flooding in the Huon River.
