Stormy weekend in southeast Queensland

Showers and thunderstorms will affect parts of central and southeast this weekend, with severe storms likely in some areas.
An upper trough passing over eastern Australia will combine with warm, moisture laden air and a low pressure trough to trigger storms on both Saturday and Sunday.
Most of the activity on Saturday will be confined to inland areas of central and southeast Queensland during the day, although some showers or thunderstorms may affect coastal areas in the southeast in the evening, possibly including the Brisbane area.
Lingering instability on Sunday will cause showers in the state's southeast from the early morning, which will continue into the afternoon and also spread to the state's central inland. Storms are possible during the morning and afternoon, although they will become well likely near the coast in the wake of a cooler southerly change, which will progress northwards from early in the day.
