Warmth rolling in across Australia this week

Felix Levesque, Sunday October 20, 2019 - 12:33 AEDT

Warmth will swing across southern and eastern Australia through this week, bringing hot days to several capital cities.

This warmth will begin in Adelaide, which looks to reach 31 degrees midweek. The heat will shift into Melbourne and Canberra on Thursday,  with the mercury forecast to hit 33 degrees and 30 degrees respectively.

In the east, a delayed and weakened seabreeze in Sydney will allow heat to build to an expected 34 degrees on Friday 25th.

Further north, Brisbane looks to reach 33 degrees on Saturday 26th.

This heat will be drawn in from central Australia by a broad trough sweeping across the south into the southeast. A front trailing closely behind will bring cooling, with ample cloud, showers and breezy winds in its wake.

In the west, Perth can also expect warmth on Saturday 26th as northeasterly winds filter into the region, with temperatures looking to reach the low 30’s.
