Western WA's week of warmth and wind

Brett Dutschke, Monday January 28, 2019 - 13:29 AEDT

Much of Western Australia's west is in for a very warm, dry and breezy week, leading to elevated fire danger.

For Perth, the hottest days look like being today and Friday and highest fire danger day is likely to be today.

The area which should experience the worst fire weather is the Central Wheat Belt where the rating should reach at least Severe today, Tuesday and Friday.

A high pressure system to the south of the state is to combine with a low pressure trough for much of the time while significant moisture stays well to the north.

A few weak fronts will impact but look to be too weak to bring much cooling other than in the far south.
