Wet end to March in central western Queensland

Parts of central western Queensland had their wettest March in three decades after Ex-Tropical Cyclone Trevor brought days of heavy rain rain this week.

As of 9am on Friday, Blackall had received 199mm of rain so far this month, most of which fell during the middle of this week. This makes it their wettest March since 1989.

Isisford's 195mm during the month as of Friday morning is their highest March total in 29 years. Clermont's 213mm is their second highest March total since 1994.

Unfortunately, some areas also missed out. Cunnamulla had only received 8.6mm of rain during March as of 9am on Friday, well below their long-term average of 41mm for the month. There's a chance that some rain will reach Cunnamulla on Friday.

Rain and storms will continue over parts of northern, central and southern Queensland during Friday, before spreading over the eastern half of the state during Saturday. Drier weather will return to most of the state by Sunday as storms contract into the state's north.
