Wintery day to come for Victoria

Following the extreme heat witnessed last week Victoria can expect the return of some wintery conditions this coming week.
A cold front will brush across the south late on Monday night, bringing cold, wet and wintery conditions across the south on the following day.
In Melbourne, the forecast maximum temperature for Tuesday of 16 degrees lies 7 degrees below the long term average. Adding to this, a high chance of showers throughout the day, along with gusty southwesterly winds making it feel up to 2 degrees colder than actual will bring strong memories of the past winter. This cold front will also bring a significantly cold airmass, which will linger overnight as winds ease, bringing a chilly 9 degree start to Wednesday.
Temperatures look to remain in the mid-to-high-teens for much of southern Victoria on Tuesday, with an overnight minimum just a few degrees shy of freezing across inland areas, bringing the risk of morning frost on Wednesday morning.
Temperatures in Melbourne are forecast to remain in the low-20s for the remainder of the week, with the arrival of another cold front and trough on Friday, bringing some more cold and wet weather late this week.
