Final Flood Warning For The Bega River

Flood Warning Number: 7

FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED AT BEGA NORTH
River levels along the Bega River at Bega North peaked below the minor flood level early Wednesday morning.
Rainfall totals of up 133mm were recorded in the Bega catchment in the 24hrs to 9:00 am Tuesday. A further 20-35mm has been recorded in the catchment to 9:00 am Wednesday. Minimal further rainfall is forecast.
No further flooding is expected.

Bega River:
No further flooding is expected in the Bega River.

The Bega River at Bega North peaked at 5.42 metres around 02:00 am Tuesday 26 December, with minor flooding. A second peak of 4.35 metres was observed around 03:00 am Wednesday 27 December, below the minor flood level (4.60 metres) . The river level is currently at 4.02 metres and falling.

* Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
* Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.}
