Final Flood Warning For The Daintree River

MINOR FLOODING HAS EASED AT DAINTREE VILLAGE
Rainfall up to 128 mm was recorded in the 24 hours to 9 am Wednesday in the Daintree River catchment. This is not expected to cause renewed flooding.
Further showers and heavy rainfall is possible over the next few days, however, renewed flooding is not expected at this stage. The forecast rainfall will be closely monitored and warnings issued if required.

Daintree River:
No further flooding is expected in the Daintree River.
The Daintree River at Daintree Village is currently at 3.95 metres and falling, below the minor flood level (4.00 m).
The Daintree River at Daintree Village is likely to remain below the minor flood level (4.00 m).

Flooding in Far North Queensland catchments during December 2023 damaged high priority river gauges that support the Bureau of Meteorology to provide high accuracy flood forecasts. While river gauges are being repaired, the Bureau will continue to issue flood watches and warnings for these catchments using the best available data.
