Final Flood Warning For The Don River

RIVER LEVELS ARE EASNG AT BOWEN PUMP STATION AFTER PEAKING BELOW MINOR EARLY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON
Rainfall totals of approximately 25-110 mm across the Don River catchment since Sunday morning caused river levels rises along the Don River. River levels are now easing throughout the catchment following below-minor peaks at several locations.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible over the next few days but widespread significant rainfall is not expected.

Don River:
Flooding is no longer expected in the Don River.
The Don River at Bowen Pump Station peaked at 2.30 metres (below minor) around 12:30 pm Wednesday 27 December and is currently at 2.05 metres and falling.
The Don River at Bowen Pump Station is expected to continue easing for the remainder of Wednesday and into Thursday, remaining below the minor flood level (2.50 m)

A very wet weekend for southeast Qld, northeast NSW

11:48 AEST A prolonged rainfall event is set to bring large totals to parts of NSW and Qld from Saturday, with possible heavy falls and flooding.  A low-pressure system in the Coral Sea, a deepening coastal trough and persistent easterlies will bring moisture-laden air into southeast Qld and northeast NSW will bring days of rainfall to the region.  While there is not a drop of rain on the radar over southeast Qld and Northeast NSW on Friday morning, the mass of cloud associated with a low in the Coral Sea will enhance rainfall over the weekend.
