Final Flood Warning For The Bremer River

MINOR FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED AT FIVE MILE BRIDGE AND NO FURTHER FLOODING IS EXPECTED AT WALLOON
Significant heavy rainfall with thunderstorms was observed across the Bremer River catchment during Wednesday night and Thursday. This resulted in river and creek level rises, and minor flooding.
Rainfall totals of up to 53 mm were recorded across the Brisbane River catchment in the 24 hours to 9:00 am Friday. Showers and storms are forecast for the remainder of Friday and over the weekend but no further flooding is expected at this stage.

Bremer River and Warrill Creek:
No further flooding is expected in the Bremer River.
The Bremer River at Five Mile Bridge peaked at 3.24 metres Thursday afternoon, below the minor flood level (3.50 m), and is currently at 2.98 metres and falling.
The Bremer River at Five Mile Bridge is expected to remain below the minor flood level.

No observations are currently available for the Bremer River at Walloon, however based on nearby gauges the water level is expected to be below the minor flood level (5.00 m) and falling.

A very wet weekend for southeast Qld, northeast NSW

11:48 AEST A prolonged rainfall event is set to bring large totals to parts of NSW and Qld from Saturday, with possible heavy falls and flooding.  A low-pressure system in the Coral Sea, a deepening coastal trough and persistent easterlies will bring moisture-laden air into southeast Qld and northeast NSW will bring days of rainfall to the region.  While there is not a drop of rain on the radar over southeast Qld and Northeast NSW on Friday morning, the mass of cloud associated with a low in the Coral Sea will enhance rainfall over the weekend.
