Weather Warnings - Flood Watch
Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology
South Australia
FINAL FLOOD WATCH FOR THE MOUNT LOFTY RANGES DISTRICT
Issued at 5:33 pm CST on Thursday 17 August 2017
By the Bureau of Meteorology, South Australia.
In the 24 hours to 6pm Thursday widespread rainfall totals of 20 to 40 mm were
recorded over the Mount Lofty Ranges with the largest totals over the upper
Onkaparinga catchment. This rainfall, falling on already saturated catchments,
resulted in high stream levels with some areas of minor flooding.
A minor flood warning is current for the Onkaparinga River.
Although rainfall has eased across the Mount Lofty Ranges, showers will
continue during Thursday overnight into Friday with a further 10 to 20 mm of
rainfall possible over the Mount Lofty Ranges.
The forecast rainfall will maintain high stream levels and could result in
renewed rises in water levels and areas of localised flooding.
The Bureau is continuing to monitor the situation and will issue further
catchment specific warnings as necessary.
Weather Forecast:
Further rainfall totals of 10 to 20 mm are forecast across the Mount Lofty
Ranges during Thursday overnight into Friday. Showers will gradually ease
during Friday before returning with the passage of a front late Sunday and into
Monday.
People should refer to the latest warnings on the Bureau's website.
