A vigorous cold front this morning will bring very dry air and strong and gusty west to southwesterly winds in its wake across much of the State today. Combined with the recent lack of rain this results in extreme fire danger across the East Coast fire weather district during today.

17:22 AEST Just as we forecast yesterday, a coastal trough has deepened along the NSW and southeast Qld coasts as a low in the Coral Sea continues to inch closer to Qld.
