Valid for Saturday 12 October 2024 to Monday 14 October 2024

Warning for the following areas:
Daly, Tiwi and Arnhem

Safety Advice:
Severe heatwaves can be dangerous for many people, especially older people, babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with medical conditions and people who are unwell.
Seek a place to keep cool, such as your home, a library, community centre or shopping centre.
Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.

A prolonged period of heat is forecast over western parts of the Top End with maximum temperatures in the high thirties to low forties inland, decreasing to mid thirties along the coast. Overnight minimum temperatures in the mid twenties.

Extreme heatwave conditions are expected to ease over the next few days.

Locations likely to be impacted include Adelaide River, Batchelor, Berry Springs, Gunlom, Jabiru, Nauiyu and Wangi Falls.

The next heatwave warning will be issued by 3:00pm CST on Sunday 13 October 2024
