RIVER LEVELS TO REMAIN BELOW MINOR ON THE HIGH TIDE AT SETTLEMENT POINT
High tide levels at Settlement Point are on an easing trend, and are no longer expected to peak near the minor flood level.
Hastings River:
River levels are easing across the Hastings River catchment on Saturday.
The Hastings River at Settlement Point is currently at 0.08 metres and rising with the tide, below the minor flood level (1.20 m).
The Hastings River at Settlement Point is expected to remain below the minor flood level (1.20 m) during Saturday into Sunday.
Flood Safety Advice:
In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring NSW SES on 132 500.
*Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.
*Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood.
*Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
*Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.}

17:22 AEST Just as we forecast yesterday, a coastal trough has deepened along the NSW and southeast Qld coasts as a low in the Coral Sea continues to inch closer to Qld.
