Final Flood Warning For The Paterson And Williams Rivers

FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED IN THE PATERSON & WILLIAMS RIVERS
In the 24 hours to 4am Saturday morning, rainfall totals up to 60mm have been recorded across the Paterson and Williams river catchments. River level rises have been observed across the catchment, but are expected to remain below the minor flood level. Rainfall has started to ease and is expected to continue easing during Saturday.

Williams River:
Flooding is no longer expected along the Williams River.
The Williams River at Dungog is currently at 2.67 metres and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Williams River at Dungog is expected to remain below the minor flood level (4.90 m).

The Williams River at Mill Dam Falls is currently at 1.94 metres and steady, below the minor flood level.
The Williams River at Mill Dam Falls is expected to remain below the minor flood level (6.10 m).

Paterson River:
Flooding is no longer expected in the Paterson River.
The Paterson River at Gostwyck Bridge is currently at 2.11 metres and rising, below the minor flood level.
The Paterson River at Gostwyck Bridge is expected to remain below the minor flood level (9.10 m).

Flood Safety Advice:
In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring NSW SES on 132 500.
* Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.
* Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood.
* Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
* Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.}

A very wet weekend for southeast Qld, northeast NSW

11:48 AEST A prolonged rainfall event is set to bring large totals to parts of NSW and Qld from Saturday, with possible heavy falls and flooding.  A low-pressure system in the Coral Sea, a deepening coastal trough and persistent easterlies will bring moisture-laden air into southeast Qld and northeast NSW will bring days of rainfall to the region.  While there is not a drop of rain on the radar over southeast Qld and Northeast NSW on Friday morning, the mass of cloud associated with a low in the Coral Sea will enhance rainfall over the weekend.
