Final Flood Warning For The Burrum And Cherwell Rivers Catchments

MINOR FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED ALONG THE BURRUM AND CHERWELL RIVERS
Rainfall totals of between 5 - 30 mm were recorded in the 24 hours to 9 am Wednesday. Significant rainfall is not expected for the next few days.

Burrum and Cherwell Rivers:
No further flooding is expected in the Burrum and Cherwell Rivers.
The Burrum River at Howard is currently at 5.36 metres and steady, below the minor flood level (6.00 m).
The Burrum River at Howard is expected to remain below the minor flood level (6.00 m).

The Cherwell River at Pacific Haven peaked at 2.63 metres around 11:00 pm Tuesday with minor flooding, and is currently at 0.73 metres and falling, below the minor flood level (2.50 m).
The Cherwell River at Pacific Haven is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.50 m).

Isis, Gregory and Elliott Rivers:
River levels are expected to be elevated but easing along the Isis, Gregory and Elliott rivers.

A very wet weekend for southeast Qld, northeast NSW

11:48 AEST A prolonged rainfall event is set to bring large totals to parts of NSW and Qld from Saturday, with possible heavy falls and flooding.  A low-pressure system in the Coral Sea, a deepening coastal trough and persistent easterlies will bring moisture-laden air into southeast Qld and northeast NSW will bring days of rainfall to the region.  While there is not a drop of rain on the radar over southeast Qld and Northeast NSW on Friday morning, the mass of cloud associated with a low in the Coral Sea will enhance rainfall over the weekend.
