Final Flood Warning For The Macquarie River

FLOODING HAS NOW EASED AT CRESSY PUMPS
Flooding has eased along the Macquarie River at above Westmoor and Cressy Pumps. Minor flooding is occurring at Lake Leake and Tooms Lake, which is likely to continue during December.
No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.
Strong and dangerous flows may continue to be a hazard over coming days.

Macquarie River above Mt Morriston:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Macquarie River above Mt Morriston.
The Tooms Lake is currently at 4.55 metres and steady, with minor flooding.
The Tooms Lake is expected to remain above the minor flood level (4.40 m) for the next week.

Elizabeth River:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Elizabeth River.
Lake Leake is currently at 5.25 metres and steady, with minor flooding.
The Lake Leake is expected to remain above the minor flood level (5.20 m) for the next week.

Macquarie River - Lake River to Longford:
No further flooding is expected in the Macquarie River - Lake River to Longford.
River level observations are not currently available for the Macquarie River above Westmoor. However, river levels are likely to be below the minor flood level (3.30 m) and falling.
The Macquarie River above Westmoor is expected to remain below the minor flood level (3.30 m) for the next few days.

The Macquarie River at Cressy Pumps is currently at 2.63 metres and steady.
The Macquarie River at Cressy Pumps is expected to remain below the minor flood level (3.00 m) for the next few days.

Generation gone with the wind

13:20 AEST A weeklong stretch of low wind power was broken on Wednesday evening, as a weak cold front marched across southern Australia.  The chart below shows that the National Electricity Market (NEM) has endured a weeklong stretch of low wind generation, with wind power providing around 6% of the NEM’s electricity, down from last year’s average of 13.1% (Mon, April 15 to Wed, April 17).
