Final Flood Warning For The Snowy River

FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED AT D/S BASIN CREEK
In the 24 hours to 1 pm Tuesday, rainfall totals of up to 65 mm have been recorded across the Snowy River catchment. Showers are forecast across the catchment over the next few days but are not expected to have a significant impact on river and creek levels.
Please note that flood class levels at Jarrahmond, McKillops Bridge, Buchan, and Orbost have been updated to better reflect flood impacts along the Snowy River. Snowy River downstream of McKillops Bridge:
Flooding is no longer expected along the Snowy River downstream of McKillops Bridge.
The Snowy River D/S Basin Ck peaked below the minor flood level (3.50 m) at 3.03 metres around 07:00 am Tuesday morning and is currently at 2.98 metres and falling slowly.
The Snowy River D/S Basin Ck is expected to remain below the minor flood level (3.50 metres) for the next few days.

Flood Safety Advice:
SES advises that all community members should:
Never walk, ride or drive through floodwater,
Never allow children to play in floodwater,
Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains during and after heavy rain,
Keep well clear of fallen power lines
Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks, and heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads.}
In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring SES on 132 500.
