Minor Flood Warning For The Swan River

Recent heavy rainfall in the Swan-Avon river catchments have resulted in significant river rises upstream of Walyunga.
A flood peak is now occurring in Toodyay and this peak is likely to reach Walyunga late Friday into Saturday.
It should be noted that this river flow is forecast to peak about 1.0 m lower than the peak level observed in February 2017.
Swan River upstream of Walyunga:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Swan River upstream of Walyunga.
The Swan River at Walyunga is currently at 3.75 metres and rising.
The Swan River at Walyunga exceeded the minor flood level (3.50 m) Friday morning. The river level is likely to peak near 4.20 metres overnight Friday into Saturday and may fall below the minor flood level (3.50 m) during Sunday.

DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is possible and be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch water levels. Travellers need to be aware that road conditions may be adversely affected and travel plans may need to be reconsidered. Do not drive into water of unknown depth and velocity.}
