Ashes First Test weather report

Angus McLean-Smith, Sunday November 26, 2017 - 10:13 AEDT

Conditions at The Gabba for the last two days of the first Test of the Ashes look likely to provide effectively two full days play. After rainfall on the first day hindered play for periods, clear conditions on day two and day three allowed play to catch up.

Play today starts at 10am Brisbane local time, there is a bit of cloud around but temperatures are forecast to reach 29 degrees with a humidity making it feel up to two degrees warmer. Showers are a slight chance, but any rain interruption should only be short-lived due to showers only being light and brief. Winds look to be east to southeasterly 15 to 25km/h during the middle of day before weakening in the evening.

Monday should see another partly cloudy day, with a top of 28 degrees and 15 to 25km/h easterly winds. Humidity will again make it feel warmer, a relative humidity of 64% is likely. Again any showers will only be brief and light and should have minimal impact on play. Showers at The Gabba during play are less than a 30% chance on each of the last two days.
