Australian Alps snow forecast

Sam Brown, Sunday June 9, 2019 - 12:49 AEST

Conditions across the Australian Alps are likely to deteriorate from this afternoon and into tomorrow, with the best conditions in the next week looking to be Tuesday 11th June.

Showers are expected late tonight (Sunday 9th) and continue tomorrow, however temperatures won't be cold enough for snow to form.

Rain may fall as snow from about Thursday as temperatures cool, although only likely to be a few centimetres and visibility limited.

Persistent and fresh-to-strong northerly component winds will continue throughout the week.
These strong winds may affect lift services at times.

Conditions are looking better from about Monday 17th next week, although no significant falls are expected within the next fortnight.

The New South Wales resorts have snow levels over 50cm and Victorian resorts up to 50cm with the snowmakers.
