Kangaroos in the snow

Ben Domensino, Monday August 12, 2019 - 17:26 AEST

A video of Kangaroos jumping across a snow-covered paddock in NSW on the weekend has gone viral around the world.

The video was captured by Stephen Grenfell near Taralga, which is located between Goulburn and Oberon.

It shows a large group of Kangaroos, which seemed to be spooked by Mr Grenfell’s passing car, hopping across the snow-covered paddock and off into the distance. Falling snow and low cloud create a grey backdrop to scene, adding to its dramatic appearance.

Local and international news organisations including Nine, the ABC, Ausralian Geographic, Reuters and the BBC all asked for permission to feature the video in their news coverage.

Mr Grenfell said that while snow is not uncommon in this part of NSW, this was the most he had ever seen in this area.
