More rain headed for South Australia

While thundery clouds and showers are clearing over South Australia over the weekend, more rainfall is headed to the southern and southeastern parts of the country early next week.

From Wednesday to Friday this week, various parts of South Australia had received 20-30mm of rainfall, with some southern districts reporting between 40-60mm.

A high pressure system is currently helping to clear showers over the southern parts of the state. However, a low pressure trough is set to deepen over the western and central parts of South Australia on Monday, potentially leading to thunderstorms and widespread falls of 10-20mm.

Thunderstorms bringing persistent rainfall should linger over the eastern parts of the state as the trough tracks into New South Wales and Victoria on Tuesday.
