Northern WA heat spreading south

Thomas Hough, Sunday November 5, 2017 - 12:08 AEDT

The current set-up over Western Australia is bringing hot, dry and windy conditions, leading to elevated fire danger over a large proportion of the state.

Fire danger ratings are very high for much of the northwest and interior with parts of the Pilbara at severe. At this stage no total fire bans are current.

Some of this heat will also filter down the west coast ahead of a trough over the next few days, when Perth can expect a run of around 4 days exceeding 30 degrees. A slight respite isn't too far away, however, as winds should turn more southerly late on Wednesday, bringing slightly cooler temperatures.
