Warm and dry conditions for Perth to continue

Lachlan Maher, Saturday November 25, 2017 - 13:40 AEDT

A low pressure trough is currently funneling warm air over Perth. Combined with the absence of any major features moving out of the Southern Ocean, the city looks to be in for a warm, dry end to November.

While the region is about to experience a warm and dry end to the month, conditions aren't expected to differ significantly to what has already occurred over the last three weeks. Above average temperatures and below average rainfall having dominated this November so far.

Perth has already experienced substantial heat this month, with the current average of 29.9 degrees running over three degrees above the long term average of 26.6 degrees. Temperatures today and tomorrow should reach into the low 30's, while Tuesday is the only day next week that should fail to make it past the average.

Perth is expected to remain dry through to the end of the month, with only a slight chance of a shower on Thursday 30th as a weak front passes the region. Even if rain does eventuate, less than 1mm is expected. This would bring the monthly total to less than 6mm, substantially less than the average of 26.6mm.
