Perth is forecast to have its warmest opening week of November on record.
A stagnant high pressure system centred to the south of WA will direct warm inland air towards the state's west coast from now until the middle of next week.
This stream of warm air is expected to see Perth's maximum temperatures reach 28 to 32 degrees each day until at least next Tuesday.
Based on yesterday's high of 29.4 degrees and the forecast maximums during the next six days, Perth's average maximum during the first week of November is forecast to be 29.9 degrees. This would be make it the city's warmest opening week of November on record.
The previous record for the first 7 days of November was 29.7 degrees, which occurred at the old Perth Regional Office site in 1918.
Perth's long-term average maximum temperature during November is 26.6 degrees, based on combined historical observations from the current Metro and old Regional Office sites.
A cool change should reach Perth late next week around Thursday or Friday, ending the late-spring spell of warm days.
