Warm weekend ahead for Melbourne

Ben Domensino, Thursday March 16, 2017 - 18:06 AEDT

Melbourne may have cooled down for the end of the working week, but temperatures will bounce back this the weekend.

The city reached summer-like highs of 33 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday before a cool change dropped the mercury today. After reaching a top of 25.3 degrees at 6:31am today, it as down to 21 before midday.

Tomorrow will be a mild day in the low to mid twenties, before weekend warmth returns.

Saturday and Sunday are both forecast to reach 31 and 32 degrees respectively. While this is a little cooler than earlier in the week, it will be the state capital's warmest weekend since early January if both days get above 31.
