Wettest March in 9 years for Alice Springs
Graeme Brittain,
Saturday March 28, 2020 - 13:20 AEDT
Thanks to a spell of rain earlier in the month, March 2020 will be Alice Springs' wettest since 2011.
So far this month, the Northern Territory's third largest town has collected 44.4mm, 144% of the long term average (30.8mm) - all of which fell between Monday 2nd and Wednesday 4th.
Tuesday 3rd was also Alice's coldest March day in 8 years, with a top of only 19.8 degrees, which is more similar to an average day in June or July.
A ridge of high pressure will keep conditions dry until after 9am CST Tuesday, when the month's total rainfall can be officially declared.
