Flood Warning for the De Grey River Catchment

Flood Warning Number: 14

River levels above the minor flood level are expected to continue in the De
Grey River catchment during Sunday into Monday.

A trough lies across the southern Pilbara with a general westerly flow across
northern WA.

For the 24 hours to 9 am Sunday, rainfall totals of less than 10mm have been
recorded in the De Grey River catchment.

For the 24 hours to 9 am Monday there is a slight (20%) chance of a shower or
thunderstorm forecast for the De Grey River catchment.

Oakover River:
Flooding above the Minor flood level is expected to continue at Ripon Hills
Road during Sunday into Monday.

Nullagine River:
Flooding above the Minor flood level is expected to continue at Nullagine and
Tumbinna Pool during Sunday into Monday.

Coongan River:
Flooding above the Minor flood level is expected to continue at Marble Bar and
Marble Bar Road Crossing during Sunday into Monday.

Shaw River:
The Shaw River at North Pole Mine and Marble Bar Road is expected to remain
below the minor flood level during Sunday into Monday.

De Grey River:
The De Grey River at Coolenar Pool will remain below the minor flood level
(5.50 m) during Sunday into Monday.

The De Grey River at Coolenar Pool is currently at 3.81 metres and steady.

Flood Safety Advice:
DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is possible and
be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch water levels. Travellers
need to be aware that road conditions may be adversely affected and travel
plans may need to be reconsidered. Do not drive into water of unknown depth and
velocity.
