Final Flood Warning For The Sandy Desert

FLOODING EASING ACROSS THE SANDY DESERT.
Flooding is easing in the Sandy Desert catchment.
Ex-tropical Cyclone Ilsa has moved into Northern Territory and is weakening as it moves further east during today.
No significant rainfall is forecast over the Sandy Desert catchment in the next few days.

Sandy Desert:
River and creek levels are likely to remain elevated across the Flood Watch area and begin easing over the next few days. Localised flooding and transport disruptions are likely to persist, however further significant river and creek level rises are not expected.
Check road conditions before travelling.

Flood Safety Advice:
DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is possible and be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch water levels. Travellers need to be aware that road conditions may be adversely affected and travel plans may need to be reconsidered. Do not drive into water of unknown depth and velocity.}
