Heavy rainfall, damaging wind gusts, and increased waves are possible about the North Tropical Coast, more likely late in the day. Light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds, tending fresh to strong southeast to southwesterly about the east coast between Cooktown and Mackay. Winds tending northwesterly over the Torres Strait and northern Peninsula. Maximum temperatures below average in the far west and Cape York Peninsula, above average in the southern interior east of Charleville, near average elsewhere.
