Cancellation Of Severe Weather Warning

for Lasseter and Tanami districts.

Issued at 4:39 pm Monday, 31 March 2025.

Heavy rainfall easing across the southwest this evening.

Weather Situation
The remnants of ex-Tropical Cyclone Dianne continue to move to the southeast through the Northern Interior of Western Australia towards the Northern Territory border. A surface trough extends to the east of the weakening system will continue to develop scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the southern interior of the state tonight, though severity is no longer expected.

Lasseter and Tanami
Severe weather is no longer occurring in Northern Territory.
The immediate threat of severe weather has passed, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary.

The Northern Territory Emergency Service advises that people should:
* pull over if it is raining heavily and you cannot see, park with your hazard lights on until the rain clears
* avoid driving into water of unknown depth and current
* stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways
* stay away from fallen power lines. They are dangerous and should always be treated as live
