Final Flood Warning For The Manning And Gloucester Rivers

Flood Warning Number: 2

NO FURTHER FLOODING EXPECTED
Rainfall totals of up to 128 mm have been observed in the Manning and Gloucester River catchments in the 24 hours to 9am Saturday. In response to this rainfall, river rises have been observed across the catchment during Friday night, but are expected to remain below the minor flood levels.
Showers are forecast for the remainder of Saturday, however no significant rainfall totals are expected. This situation is being closely monitored, and warnings will be updated if required.

Gloucester River:
No further flooding is expected in the Gloucester River.
The Gloucester River at Gloucester is near a peak of 2.20 metres and falling, below the minor flood level (4.30 metres).

Manning River:
No further flooding is expected in the Manning River.
The Manning River at Wingham is currently at 1.49 metres and steady, below the minor flood level (4.90 metres).

The Manning River at Taree is currently at 0.99 metres and falling, below the minor flood level (1.80 metres).

The Manning River at Croki Wharf is currently at 0.88 metres and falling, below the minor flood level (1.50 metres).

In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring NSW SES on 132 500.
* Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.
* Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood.
* Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.
* Never drive, ride or walk through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.}

Generation gone with the wind

13:20 AEST A weeklong stretch of low wind power was broken on Wednesday evening, as a weak cold front marched across southern Australia.  The chart below shows that the National Electricity Market (NEM) has endured a weeklong stretch of low wind generation, with wind power providing around 6% of the NEM’s electricity, down from last year’s average of 13.1% (Mon, April 15 to Wed, April 17).
