Final Flood Warning For The Mary River

Flood Warning Number: 5

NO FURTHER FLOODING EXPECTED ALONG THE MARY RIVER
Rainfall during Wednesday and into Thursday caused creek and river level rises throughout the Mary River catchment, with minor flood peaks observed at Dagun Pocket, Gympie, and Miva.
River levels have now eased below minor flood levels throughout the catchment and will continue to ease. Further scattered showers are possible over the remainder of the long weekend but are not expected to significantly affect river levels.

Mary River to Gympie:
No further flooding is expected in the Mary River to Gympie.
The Mary River at Gympie is currently at 2.66 metres and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Mary River at Gympie will continue to ease and remain below the minor flood level (6.00 m).

Six Mile Creek:
No further flooding is expected along Six Mile Creek.
Mary River downstream of Gympie:
No further flooding is expected in the Mary River downstream of Gympie.
The Mary River at Miva is currently at 5.61 metres and falling, below the minor flood level.
The Mary River at Miva will continue easing and remain below the minor flood level (7.50 m).

The Mary River at Tiaro peaked just below the minor flood level at 5.79 metres around 03:00 pm Friday 29 March and is currently at 5.24 metres and easing, below the minor flood level.
The Mary River at Tiaro will continue easing and remain below the minor flood level (6.00 m).

A very wet weekend for southeast Qld, northeast NSW

11:48 AEST A prolonged rainfall event is set to bring large totals to parts of NSW and Qld from Saturday, with possible heavy falls and flooding.  A low-pressure system in the Coral Sea, a deepening coastal trough and persistent easterlies will bring moisture-laden air into southeast Qld and northeast NSW will bring days of rainfall to the region.  While there is not a drop of rain on the radar over southeast Qld and Northeast NSW on Friday morning, the mass of cloud associated with a low in the Coral Sea will enhance rainfall over the weekend.
