Major Flood Warning For The Macintyre And Weir Rivers, Flood Warning For The Dumaresq River And Macintyre Brook

MAJOR FLOODING EASING AT GOONDIWINDI ON THE MACINTYRE RIVER
MAJOR FLOODING LIKELY AT TALWOOD ON THE WEIR RIVER MONDAY MORNING
River levels are continuing to slowly ease at Boggabilla and Goondiwindi following major flood peaks on Saturday.
No significant rainfall has been recorded across the catchment since Saturday's showers and thunderstorms. Isolated moderate to heavy rainfall is possible with further showers and thunderstorms over parts of the upper catchment late Sunday afternoon and into the evening, which may again lead to some renewed river level rises locally.

Dumaresq River:
Small renewed river level rises and minor flooding have been recorded along parts of the upper Dumaresq River and tributaries following Saturday's showers and thunderstorms. On the lower reaches of the Dumaresq River at Bengalla, moderate flood levels continue to slowly ease.
The Dumaresq River at Texas is currently at 4.65 metres (below minor) and falling, following small renewed rises overnight Saturday into Sunday.
The Dumaresq River at Texas is expected to remain below the minor flood level (6.00 m) during Sunday into Monday, though further renewed rises remain possible later in the day and overnight but dependent on further showers and thunderstorms.

Macintyre Brook:
Very small renewed river level rises were recorded along parts of the upper Macintyre Brook and tributaries following Saturday's showers and thunderstorms.
The Macintyre Brook at Inglewood Bridge is currently at 3.25 metres (below minor) and falling.
The Macintyre Brook at Inglewood Bridge is expected to remain below the minor flood level (5.00 m) during Sunday, though further renewed rises remain possible later in the day and overnight but dependent on further showers and thunderstorms.

Macintyre River downstream of Holdfast:
Moderate to major flooding is occurring along the Macintyre River between New Kildonan and Terrewah, with the flood peak between Goondiwindi and Terrewah.
The Macintyre River at Boggabilla is currently at 11.63 metres and falling, with moderate flooding.
The Macintyre River at Boggabilla is expected to fall below the moderate flood level (11.50 m) Sunday evening.

The Macintyre River at Goondiwindi is currently at 10.10 metres and steady, with major flooding.
The Macintyre River at Goondiwindi is expected to continue easing slowly over the next few days. The river level may fall below the major flood level (8.50 m) late Monday.

Weir River to Giddi Giddi South:
Minor to moderate flooding is easing between Ballymena and Gunn Bridge, with major flood levels easing very slowly further downstream at Giddi Giddi South. River levels are continuing to slowly ease along Wyaga and Yarrill Creeks.
Weir River downstream of Giddi Giddi South:
Moderate to major flood levels are rising along the lower Weir River between Surrey and Mascot.
The Weir River at Talwood at 9 am Sunday 05 December was at 3.65 metres and rising, with moderate flooding.
The Weir River at Talwood is likely to reach the major flood level (4.00 m) Monday morning. The river level is likely to peak between 4.20 and 4.50 metres during Tuesday, in the vicinity of the September 1998 flood peak of 4.36 metres. The peak prediction will be refined as upstream peaks are recorded.
