Final Flood Warning For The Ovens And King Rivers
Issued at 09:25 AM EST on Wednesday 10 August 2022
Flood Watch Number: 10

MINOR FLOODING HAS EASED AT WANGARATTA
Minor flooding has eased along the Ovens River at Wangaratta.
In the 24 hours to 9:00 am Wednesday, no significant rainfall has been recorded in the Ovens and King River catchments. No significant rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Wednesday.

King River:
No further flooding is expected in the King River.
The King River at Docker Rd Bridge is currently at 2.95 metres and falling.
The King River at Docker Rd Bridge will remain below the minor flood level (3.70 m) during Wednesday.

Ovens River downstream of Rocky Point:
No further flooding is expected in the Ovens River downstream of Rocky Point.
The Ovens River at Wangaratta is currently at 11.69 metres and falling.
The Ovens River at Wangaratta will remain below the minor flood level (11.90 m) during Wednesday.

Flood Safety Advice:
SES advises that all community members should:
Never walk, ride or drive through floodwater,
Never allow children to play in floodwater,
Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains during and after heavy rain,
Keep well clear of fallen power lines
Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks, and heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads.}
