Perfect weather for AFL Grand Final after a 'very Melbourne' week

The AFL Grand Final between the Sydney Swans and Brisbane Lions on Saturday, September 28, looks like it’ll take place in perfect weather conditions.
Melbourne is heading for a top of 22°C on Saturday, with the temperature likely to be hovering around 21°C at the bounce at 2:30pm. Skies will be sunny and while winds may be a little gusty out of the north, you really couldn’t ask for better conditions for footy.
In fact, you'd just about have to say that the visitors from Brisbane and Sydney have brought the weather along with them in their kits for the first AFL decider between two non-Victorian teams since 2006.

As for the weather during the week leading up to the grand final, let’s just say that Melbourne is going to be doing some very Melbourne things.

Famous for its changeable weather, Melbourne’s maximums will fluctuate wildly this week.
Tuesday should be the warmest day of the week with a top of 23°C.
Rain then moves in on Wednesday with an approaching cold front and the thick layer of cloud will drop the max to just 15°C.
Some seriously cold air then moves in behind the front on Thursday. The maximum that day will be 14°C but the "feels like" temp in cold southerly winds won’t get much higher than 7°C all day.
Conditions will ease on Friday, and while the air will still feel cool with a top of 18°C, it should be a great day to get amongst it for the Grand Final Parade on the streets of Melbourne.
And Saturday, as mentioned, the weather will be baby bear’s porridge for the big game – as in, juuuust right.
