Western Australia Satellite Notes

A cloudband stretching from the state's northwest to southeast in a trough is generating showers, with some storms over the northwest and central areas. Cloud building in low pressure over the northeast is producing some showers & the odd storm. Mostly clear and dry elsewhere.

The answer is that under the right conditions, hurricanes can produce exactly the type of extreme weather conditions which are conducive to tornado formation.
